# How should website costs be checked to distinguish page design from content entry?

When checking website costs, ask separately about page structure design, content preparation, and individual content entries, then establish who supplies the original materials and how acceptance works. This suits corporate website procurement involving substantial materials. Even a quotation that ‘includes publishing content’ does not necessarily include rewriting, image processing, and factual verification.

## ‘Ten pages’ can describe different work

Page counts do not necessarily reflect workload directly. Ten articles might share one template or have differences involving galleries, downloads, and special explanations. Distinguish URL entries from page types: the former indicate how much content must be entered; the latter affect design and development objects. ## Attach content samples to the quotation

Select one fairly complete page and one with unorganized materials. Attach text, images, and files and identify their sources. Ask the supplier which processing is required, such as removing repetition, organizing heading levels, cropping images, or repairing attachment links. This reveals the prerequisites behind ‘publishing content,’ rather than focusing only on the total price.

If materials contain an old model's photograph and a new model's specifications, the person entering them cannot decide which to adopt merely through layout. The company's responsible person should provide a consistent official version before entry begins.

Check entry counts and categories first, then sample different content types to confirm titles, images, attachments, and body text match official materials. If the contract requires checking every entry, follow it. A few sampled pages cannot replace a promised complete check. Retain the checking scope and omission records.

Correct display after launch does not establish factual accuracy. The company's responsible people still need to confirm specifications, qualifications, dates, and business promises. Cost comparison should produce comparable work objects and responsibility boundaries, allowing the company to judge whether the investment covers real needs rather than seek a low price detached from scope.
