Many companies now create a corporate website to strengthen their image and promote their products. Yet some believe the most important parts of the site are the general company and product content, and they pay too little attention to thecorporate website homepage. Some homepages are so poorly organized that users are unlikely to continue browsing. In website development, the homepage is critical: it shapes the first impression and directly affects whether users stay or leave. What content and considerations should therefore guide homepage development?

公司网站首页制作要注意哪些事项?

Clearly Communicate the Company's Identity

Include a concise company introduction on the homepage. It does not need to be extensive; it only needs to help visitors understand the brand quickly. Paths to other pages within the corporate website should also be clear, and the interface should have a distinctive design. The company Logo should express recognizable characteristics, while the homepage layout should be rational and visually appealing.

Use a Rational Homepage Layout

A logical internal structure is important to users. A homepage filled with dry copy and decorative but unhelpful images is unlikely to attract them. Analysis indicates that many users pay greater attention to content near the top and left side of a page. Place useful information in these areas and use images as accents elsewhere. Applying this behavior thoughtfully may produce a stronger result.

Update Homepage Information Regularly

Homepage design may initially attract clicks, but visual appeal alone does not hold attention for long. Titles and content become the next focus. Homepage information should be updated regularly, and new material should be surfaced on the homepage whenever possible. If updates are hidden within separate sections or categories, users may struggle to find them and the user experience will decline.

Invest in Homepage Design and Production

As a core part of the corporate website, the homepage requires strong design and production. Begin by understanding the shared characteristics of likely visitors, then position the website accurately around those audience attributes and use that insight todesign and develop the websitehomepage. The team should also understand what users care about. Visitors to a home-improvement company's website, for example, are more likely to focus on completed projects and the capabilities of its designers. Homepage design must pay close attention to detail because a high-quality homepage creates a lasting impression.

Prioritize Homepage Search Visibility

In practice, much of a corporate website's authority is concentrated on the homepage. Unlike large sites with many specialized navigation categories—each expressing a different topic and emphasis—corporate presentation sites may have only around ten navigation items and no more than two or three levels. The resulting structure is relatively flat, with fewer pages and simpler navigation, so more authority flows to the homepage. Website development should therefore include careful placement of important keywords and content.

Finally, homepage articles should be original. Original content benefits the entire site, and material on the homepage should never be copied directly. Search engines favor original articles, and browsers—and the people using them—do as well.
